1929, when it all started

A Swiss gentleman called Gotthilf Mettler, founder of the brand, returned from a long journey in the United Kingdom with a glycerin soap recipe handed by a British doctor. Despite the fact that glycerin soap was practically unknown in Europe at the time, Mr. Mettler detected its high potential. With his entrepreneurial spirit, he decided to build his own soap factory and created the first glycerin soap in Switzerland: the “Soap for Doctors”.

1st Chapter

Gotthilf Mettler’s aim was to produce high quality soaps for the private and medical sectors. Thanks to its high glycerin content, glycerin soap cleanses the skin, while protecting against dryness, avoiding chapped hands that are more susceptible to catch germs and bacteria. Our glycerin soap became rapidly a must-have and more than 90 years later, the original soap factory located in Hornussen in the canton of Aargau is still operating and nowadays, our glycerin soap is sold in most Swiss pharmacies and abroad.

2nd CHAPTER

Mister Peter Yip, the Co-founder of the worldwide known luxury cosmetic brand La Prairie and the owner of the top luxury cosmetics Bellefontaine and La Vallée was inspired and enchanted by the quality of the glycerin soaps. He decided to buy the factory. Following the innovative path of Gottlieb Mettler and with focus on the natural, handmade & luxury quality of the soaps, he transformed Mettler into a premium Cosmetics Brand: Mettler1929 – LUXURY MADE BY NATURE for women & their families worldwide.

His revolutionary anti-aging skincare, which combines a famous Swiss apple stem cells with a cutting-edge biotechnology, has become a bestseller.

Glycerin

The Glycerin line is composed of soaps for face and body. This ingredient, the glycerin, is known for its moisturizing and soothing properties. This line allows to clean the skin without causing any tightness or dryness sensations, leaving it pleasantly soft and smooth after use.

Moisturizing

The Moisturizing line provides optimal results for dry and dehydrated skins. Tight feeling, itching, stretched and rough areas are provoked by moisture loss. This line nourishes and protects the skin from dehydration, while soothing it. The skin recovers a sensation of extreme comfort.

Sensitive Skin

The Sensitive Skin line consists of very mild skin care products designed for reactive and delicate skins, which easily tend to redness and irritations. This line nourishes and moisturizes the skin, leaving it soft and sooth and calming its protective film.

STC Cell-Tech

The STC Cell-Tech line was developed using the most recent technologies, to proactively fight the first fine lines and wrinkles and to hydrate the skin. Its highly performant products use apple stem cells from the Swiss apple variety «Uttwiler Spätlauber» to enhance cellular vitality and longevity. The line is recommended as soon as the natural production of collagen decreases, namely between 25 and 30 years old depending on the person.

Anti-Aging

The Anti-Aging line was designed for mature to very mature skin. It nourishes and protects the skin from dehydration. The slowing down of cell regeneration leads to a loss of elasticity, fine lines and wrinkles, thin and dry skin. The Lightening line helps to recover a radiant complexion and even skin tone. It is recommended to pale complexion, tired and patchy skins prone to wrinkles and pigmentation disorders due to aging. This line targets pigmentation spots and small blemishes caused by environmental pollution, free radicals and desquamation.

Cleansing

The Cleansing line offers a range of products that delicately cleanse, refresh and tone the skin, while restoring extreme comfort to the skin. Adopting a « cleansing routine » is very important as it eliminates make-up residue, oil, impurity and dead skin cells. Moreover, cleansing is the basis for all subsequent care products to penetrate the skin in an optimal way. This Cleansing line is gentle and mild for the skin.
